Minimizing
Noise Impact

We’re creating a more peaceful environment for the community, improving worker comfort, and enhancing our overall quality of service.

White Noise

We’ve upgraded the backup beepers on all wheel loaders to white noise technology reducing auditory stress without compromising safety.

Trucks

Trucks are instructed not to idle while being loaded or honk their horns upon arrival. This measure helps reduce unnecessary noise and emissions.

Rubber Blades

We replaced all wheel loader bucket blades with rubber alternatives, an improvement aimed at eliminating harsh scraping sounds during operation.

Hours

Equipment operators will not load trucks before 7:00 AM. If trucks arrive early, drivers are instructed to park onsite with engines turned off, minimizing noise and emissions.

Traffic and Emissions

Minimizing Community Impacts

Traffic is actively monitored to eliminate on-road queuing. We’ve adjusted the traffic flow to ensure all trucks are queuing on-site and not on the road.

Trucks are instructed not to idle. This measure helps reduce emissions.

Installed a compactor to optimize outbound loads, cutting outbound truck trips by approximately 50% and lowering noise and dust. (Added: May 22, 2026)

Dust and Odour

We care about health and safety

We regularly apply a dust suppression treatment to help minimize airborne particles and maintain air quality. (Update: Confirmed once again for 2026)

To mitigate odors, recyclables are shipped the next business day to other recycling facilities for processing.

Moved the 80-ft scale to the rear of the property, helping reduce noise and dust near local residents. (Added: May 22, 2026)

Street Cleaning

Proactively inspects Biggar Ave 3X a day for materials.

Street sweeping is carried out at our discretion. This flexible approach allows us to respond efficiently as we deem necessary due to our operations. (Added: August 6, 2025)

Our new street sweeping partner is local to ensure a quick response and support our neighbours. (Added: May 22, 2026)
